The High Representative for UNAOC participated in the 3rd African and Euro-Mediterranean Youth Summit (‘Sommet des Jeunes Africains et Euroméditerranéens de l’Université Euromed de Fès’), held on 19 January 2026 at the Royal Academy of Morocco in Rabat under the overarching theme, “Civic Responsibility and Pluralism of Values”. The event was hosted by the Euromed University of Fez (UEMF), through its United Nations Chair for the Alliance of Civilizations (UNCAC), in cooperation with the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC).
Organized by students of the Euromed University of Fez and supported by leading national and international institutions, including the Royal Academy of Morocco and the Hassan II Academy of Sciences and Techniques, the Summit convened young leaders from more than 40 countries, as well as academics, experts, and institutional leaders. Participants engaged in high-level dialogue on civic responsibility, diversity, social cohesion, and shared values.
USG Moratinos addressed the opening session, alongside Mr. Abdeljalil Lahjomri, Permanent Secretary of the Academy of the Kingdom of Morocco; Mr. Omar Fassi Fihri, Permanent Secretary of the Hassan II Academy of Sciences and Technology; Professor Mostapha Bousmina, President of the EuroMed University of Fez; and Professor Abdelhak Azzouzi, President of UNCAC, member of the Board of Directors of UEMF.
