The United Nations Chair for the Alliance of Civilizations at the Euromed University of Fes Awarded in Prague with the Prestigious International "Alliance University of the Year" – Triple E Awards 2025

The United Nations Chair for the Alliance of Civilizations at the Euromed University of Fes was awarded the prestigious “Alliance University of the Year” prize on September 11, 2025, in Prague, as part of the 2025 Triple E Awards organized by the Accreditation Council for Entrepreneurial and Engaged Universities (ACEEU). The award was presented during a gala dinner held at the renowned Lobkowicz Palace in Prague, as part of the Global ACEEU Forum, which gathered over 150 decision-makers from around the world.

The United Nations Chair for the Alliance of Civilizations was ranked first among hundreds of universities and institutions from across the globe.

The Triple E Award is the first global recognition dedicated to the Third Mission of universities — their role beyond teaching and research, in the service of otherness, the Alliance of Civilizations, and development.

Organized by ACEEU, the world’s only accreditation body focused on university engagement and entrepreneurship, the award honors the most innovative and socially committed institutions.

This is a major international distinction for the only UN Chair in this field at a time marked by global tensions, fragility, and geopolitical instability.

To ensure the effectiveness and visibility required by its mission, the United Nations Chair for the Alliance of Civilizations has been equipped with an academic Master’s program in Conflict Management and the Alliance of Civilizations, as well as a Doctoral Training Program accredited by the Moroccan Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research, and Innovation.

In the same spirit, the Chair’s leaders have made it both a hub for academic output — as evidenced by recent publications and journals — and a space for debate, where students from various countries engage in forward-thinking reflection on the future of societies through specially organized events, such as the Meeting of Euro-Mediterranean and African Youth, held on February 14, 2024, at the Moroccan Parliament, alongside the General Assembly of the Parliaments of Union for the Mediterranean (UfM) member states. During this event, young participants from thirty countries discussed the challenges facing the Euro-Mediterranean and African regions, culminating in the drafting and presentation of a “Call for the Future” before the presidents of the member state parliaments of the UfM.

The Chair also organized conferences, debates, and exchanges on the topic of the Alliance of Civilizations on December 6 and 7, 2024, under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, with the participation of several international figures and around 1,600 students.

In many respects, the success of these initiatives, organized by the Chair, brings great satisfaction, as they align perfectly with Morocco’s widely acclaimed peaceful vision, as well as with the strategic objectives of the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC).

The Triple E Award was presented on September 11, 2025, in Prague to the Chair’s President, Professor Abdelhak Azzouzi.
