The Euromed University of Fes Encounters on the Alliance of Civilizations carry profound symbolic significance, particularly as they are under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI. This royal gesture can be seen as a powerful endorsement, reinforcing the spirit of universality that the Euromed University of Fes upholds in promoting a culture of peace and harmony across the world.
In many ways, nothing could have been more rewarding than the organization of these Meetings by the University, perfectly aligned and in synergy with Morocco’s widely praised peaceful vision and with the United Nations’ ongoing strategy to promote values of mutual understanding and peaceful coexistence.

While we do not wish to adopt an alarmist view, it is impossible to ignore the fact that our world is currently facing extreme tensions and conflicts, which, at the very least, cloud our ability to clearly envision the future of our societies. Concerns and critical questions continue to gain ground, weighing heavily on certain States from various sides. Relations between these States are becoming increasingly fragile, and the growing mistrust between them is paradoxically beginning to establish itself as a form of regulation.
One can only regret the rise of intractable radicalization and hostility. Even more concerning, in opposition to the search for shared reconciliation solutions, we observe the near-constant recourse to military force as a means to resolve various disputes. Why this return to forms of barbarism that we once believed were behind us? How can we protect ourselves and prevent them from jeopardizing our world? What path should we follow to ensure that the current chaotic situation does not worsen or escalate further? How can we view the future of our humanity through a more reassuring and peaceful lens?
These questions engage not only politicians and economic actors but also intellectuals, academics, scientists, and cultural figures, all of whom are represented by the distinguished participants of the Euromed University of Fes Meetings, coming from all over the world. The theme of trust chosen to address these issues appears to be a relevant catalyst, conducive to the development of innovative approaches that could open up new possibilities for understanding and resuming dialogue where it is in crisis or facing direct conflict.
