The inauguration took place in a warm yet solemn atmosphere, attended by 1,900 participants from around the world. This Chair, in the words of Mr. Angel-Miguel Moratinos, High Representative of the United Nations for the Alliance of Civilizations, is the first of its kind in the world to be officially recognized by the United Nations.
